Why is Superkind intentionally small?

We could be bigger. We choose not to be. Staying small means every client works directly with the same designer from kickoff to handoff. Your budget goes into design, not overhead. And we learn your product deeply rather than spreading thin across a dozen accounts.

What if a project needs more than design?

When a project needs skills beyond design, like development or strategy, we bring in trusted partners we've worked with for years. Small doesn't mean limited. It means focused.

How do you approach design?

We design with the end user at the centre of every decision. That means building on UX heuristics, following accessible design principles, and making sure what we create works for everyone, not just the majority. We also think about the footprint our work leaves behind. We care about performance, sustainability, and building things that last. We call this being future-friendly.

What's the difference between a Custom Design Project and a Design Partnership?

A Custom Design Project is a one-off engagement with a clear start and end. A Design Partnership is an ongoing monthly retainer for teams who need consistent design support. Many clients start with a project and transition into a partnership once their product is live.

Who will I be working with?

You'll work directly with Zach Dyson, the founder and lead designer at Superkind. No account managers, no handoffs between teams. The person you speak to is the person designing your product.

I’ve got an app idea — can you help me bring it to life?

Absolutely. Whether it’s a rough idea or something you’ve been refining for a while, we can help turn it into a real, tangible product. This often starts with designing a proof of concept (PoC) — a focused version of your idea that can be used to validate the concept, gather early feedback, or even secure investor funding. From there, I’ll guide you through research, strategy, design, and into development with the support of trusted developer partners.

Do you develop websites and apps too?

Yes. While we focus on UX and design, we collaborate closely with a trusted network of developers who bring our designs to life. You get the benefits of a tight-knit, experienced team — without having to coordinate it all yourself.

Which industries do you work with?

We’ve partnered with teams across many industries — from FinTech, Agriculture, and Health to Non-Profit, Sport, Real Estate, and Ecommerce. What matters most to us isn’t the sector, but the impact. We love working with organisations doing good for the planet and its people, using our craft to help them drive change and leave a positive mark.

Can you help us refine our brand?

Absolutely. While UX is our focus, we often help refine visual identity, tone, and content to ensure the whole experience feels cohesive.
